Waterproof Breathable Membrane

FSM-710 is a white waterproof, breathable, and sound-transmitting acoustic membrane, built for miniature handheld microphones and other small acoustic ports. An ePTFE membrane carries the adhesive and the release liner, so the part goes straight onto the opening.

Liquid stays out at more than 60 kPa of water pressure. Sound passes with about 1.5 dB of transmission loss. Moisture vapor still moves through, above 5,000 g/m² per 24 hours, so the housing can breathe and does not fog.

FSM-710W adds mesh support: a 5-layer ePTFE stack with PET support and double-sided adhesive, 175 mesh per inch, 105 μm pores, and 52% open area, for ports that need a stiffer part.

Converting at Meetall

Vents are cut in a Class 10,000 cleanroom on precision-registration lines, so the adhesive ring stays off the opening. A laser first article confirms the fit before a steel rule is made.

Packing and delivery

Parts are kept on the release liner, packed flat in sealed bags, and boxed in cartons.
